I need a really good printer that can do really good type, image quality and can also do tabloid size printing. so far the only printer that a lot of people are telling me to get is a Xante.

Is the Xante that good versus say other?

interested in your opinions

thanks

The only reviews I have ever read of it say its pretty much the best in its class. I don't know how it compares to the Xante, never heard of that one

You can find reviews by all the major magazines on their web sites and here's one from Steve's Digicams: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/canon_i9900.html . I don't think it has any competition at the price and the cost of consumables is considerably lower than any other.
. Epson might have an edge in print longevity due to their pigment based inks. Photo output is second to none.

I will take a look at it but, to answer your question Xantes are highend laser printer with resolution (2400 dpi as advertises) up to imagesetter quality CDW has a couple of them and so does a few other places.

they are also quite pricey

Oh, if you want laser, Xerox Phaser units should be on your short list.

The Canon inkjet will give you better images than the laser. Will be cheaper to run as well if you know where to buy ink.

Epsons can be too troublesome - about the only thing that Epson offers beyond Canon is perhaps print longevity. But there are other ways to skin that cat.
