Printer won't print shades of gray.

Windows XP Pro with a Canon i350 inkjet. Printer works fine, print is sharp, color intensity and shading is good across the entire spectrum except black. It'll print any shade of blue, any intensity of red, any shade of orange or yellow or purple. But for any shades of gray everything prints out jet black.

Any ideas?
