Printer that would still print even 1 color is empty

I used to have a all in one canon MP50 machine that would still print black even if the color cartridges are empty. Then I have the epson cx4600 which does not want to print at all when any of the 6 cartridges is empty even though I'm only printing black.
I have gone to many retail stores and none of them confirm or knows if any printer will do like my MP50.
If someone here knows one please suggest, thanks

I think most all of them will print in grayscale (B&W) if you tell them to. IOW, when you get the print menu, check preferences or properties, and under color, tell it to print B&W. Anyway - that's the way my HP Deskjet works - it workjs with no color cartridge.

no matter what I set in the preference, on the unit itself demand me to change the empty cartridge before I can continue
