Printer suggestion? Canon i960 vs Canon PIXMA IP4000

I've narrowed it down to the Canon i960 or Canon PIXMA IP4000. Both seem really great. IP4000 has automatic 2-sided printing which is really cool. Does anyone have experience with both of these? I'm looking for a printer that does FAST B&W printing as well as high quality color output on regular paper and high resolution photographs on glossy paper.

Thanks

EDIT: Here's one comparison I found that's pretty helpful. Seems the IP4000 might handle plain black-ink printouts better than the i960.

... because it uses separate, different blacks for photo and text.

The i900 series, as well as the top iP models, use more color inks for better photos - the latest ones not only use extra inks for light magenta and cyan, but also have red and green inks. The iP4000 just has black, black, c,m,y, and the same 2-picoliter droplets. The next higher, iP5000, still is CMYK, but with 1-pl droplets. This might also look good - but between your choices, I think the i960 will have the edge in print quality.

For fast black and white text printing I'd get the IP-4000...photos will be good too.

the i960 is a different animal.

if you are really looking for B&W go laser

I love my i960 though....most of my print needs at home are color.

The iP6000D is the replacement for the i960, not the iP4000 (which is the replacement for the i860). And the iP5000 has higher resolution than any of the Pixmas for under $200. (9600x2400dpi), but only 4 colors.
. It really depends on your mix of printing which one would be best. iP4000 or 5000 is best if lots of text is your main thing (both have large separate pigmented black tank for text), iP6000D if photos are your main thing (only one black and it's dye type - best for photos). Newegg has them all in stock and if you need a digicam you can get up to $100. Visa gift card if you get both Canon - you can buy them at separate stores and on separate dates for the best deal.
