ok i have a epson photo 820 which boasts 2800x720 dpi
and i just purchased a canon i320 which indicates that it
can print at 2400x1200 dpi now which one should technically
result in better printing?

also if anyone can explain what all these dpi resoultions mean
is it horizontal vs vertical printing ? or am i getting this thing all
wrong
 
It's all in the drivers, resolution doesn't matter that much. Is that Epson a four- or six-color printer? If six, it might be better in the light areas of a picture.
 
yeah the epson is a six color printer the results are very good
i like the way the color prints come out just wondering how the canon will
perform
 
I'm not familiar with the Canon i320 in particular, but I'd be surprised if you are not delighted with the output of a Canon.
Please let us know the results.
