Printer Sharing question

Hi I?m trying to figure out if it's possible to set a computer up to see a shared printer(s) and be able to use it and NOT see any shared files on the network. I think this is possible but I?m not 100% sure. It's on Windows Xp and i can't find anything about turning one on and not the other and since as far as i can tell they're one in the same to XP. Basically i have a computer with a shared printer and some file s and i want to allow the printer to be used and the files to be hidden.

You should just be able to unshare the shared folders.. I think only the shared docs is shared by default
 
The thing is i want the files shared just not to that computer...or any other computer i decide shouldn't have access.
 
Than setup the ntfs or share permissions to only allow the user you want to have access to it. You'll need to shut simple filesharing off(If you have XP home you can't shut it off). I'm not sure if you can allow by machine with windows file sharing, but I know you can do it by user. All this is assuming you're on a workgroup. If you're on a domain its a different story.
 
Do not share the whole Drive C:, Enable only the Shared Folders in My document and put there any thing you are willing to share.

Every thing else put in other folders (directories).

ok! we are on a workgroup. I'd really like to do it by machine because there's going to be 20ish computers that need printer but not file access. if i create the same username/pass on each machine and then set that name to not have access would that work?

For a 20 computer workgroup it'd be easier to find an old pc and have it act as a print server, or get a hardware print server.
