Printer sharing problem with Windows XP

I am trying to share a printer where any user that logs on the computer can see the printer. The problem is the printer I am using is a non-network printer and I am using printer sharing to make it work. I can see the printer with the account that I installed the printer, but if I log someone else one they can't see the printer.

I know there is a registry hack to make it where all users is able to see the printer no matter who logs on, but I have lost this hack. Shame on me!!!! And I can't seem to find it on the net again.

If anyone knows how to get this done, please help. 🙂

Can you ensure that the 'share this printer' is ticked, and also that you have enabled 'file and printer sharing'

Yes, those things are all checked. This happens ever since Windows XP came out. There is a registry hack I have used before, I just cant seem to find the stupid thing.

I don't follow you. There ARE some printers that are not designed to be networked, but that doesn't sound like your problem. You're either sharing the printer on the network or you're not.

No one needs to be "logged in" to use a shared printer. Just share the printer with "EVERYONE" in the share permissions. No username or password required.
