Hey Guys - excuse me for my noobish question, but I am confused. I have two computers (1 desktop and 1 laptop) connected to my wireless network that is connected another Rig I have. All three PCs have different variations of VISTA.
So, I have a Canon printer hooked up via USB to the desktop computer - all is well. I enable printer sharing on this PC in Network & Sharing Center. Also, password protection is turned off. My goal is to have the laptop print to this printer as well. So, I go to the lappy and enable print sharing, and all seems to work the first time around.
Then, after a reboot/restart/logoff/time passing, I cannot print from the laptop? The printer is there, it shows as being on the desktop computer, I can submit a print job, but no joy. I get an error back telling me that there was an error with the print job.
Coincidentally, I routinely get a login/pop-up box on the laptop when I try to uninstall and re-install the printer. This has to mimic the user login on the desktop computer, but it pops up routinely. Not sure if this is linked to the issue I am having or not.
All in all, this is much more frustrating than XP. I would have thought printer sharing would be one of the easier things to do. Please share wisdom and guidance on my ignorant journey. Thanks much in advance.
