I got xerox laser P8...it does not want to print on my parallel port. I take it to my friends machine and it prints fine on his parallel port. We both have the same drivers loaded too. This printer does not support USB...does anybody have any tips? i use windows 95 btw.

In the spool settings in the Printer software(going by memory here) there should be a box that you can tick that enables bi-directonal cable for the parallel cable,I had a similar problem with a friend`s lexmark it would not print anyway I found this box was not ticked for bi-directional cable which solved his problem.

Do you have an older style AT case configuration? It could be that either the ribbon in the computer that attaches to the board came loose, or it is just a bad port. If you have ATX, and are having problems, I'd probably try downloading the newest drivers. Do this either way.
