Printer Problems

Just got printer(HP930c)a few weeks ago. Worked just fine on parallel port. Had some USB issues with camera and printer. Got camera to work but not printer. Now, I can't even get the printer to work on parallel port. It's not recognized. After I start the install of the software, an exclamation mark in the dialog box says "install was unable to locate on any parallel ports". Any suggestions?

If you don't get useful advise here, go to HP's website and ask them. They'll e-mail you back fairly quickly. You might check your PC's BIOS documentation and settings - I think HP will recommend a parallel connection over USB and that the parallel port be set to ECP, but don't take my word for it.

Also be sure to uninstall the printer before you reinstall it, of course.

Check your device manager to see if your Parallel Port is marked with a yellow exclamation point. There may be some IRQ or resource conflict if it is.
