Printer port not configured on K8V Deluxe

I just recently tried to install a printer on my K8V Deluxe, but it couldn't find as it was connected to the parallel port. I could only conclude an I/O address problem. Sure enough LPT1 was disabled by default, so I set it to the address 378h. Strange, I've never seen a parallel port disable by default before on a motherboard. Anybody else's K8V Deluxe like this.

This is 2004. The legacy ports are on their way out. I'm not surprised to see the default settings to shift toward them being disabled.
