Printer help?

I'm looking for an inexpensive but decent quality inkjet printer.

Any recommendations/good deals?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, guys 🙂

I have an HP 970 CSE. Great printer, now only $299. It'll do 2400x1200 dpi and it does automatic two sided printing. Cool printer, on photo paper it's hard to tell it's not a real photo. I must recomend it.

Uhm, I guess I should have said that I'm a poor, poor college student and was hoping for something under $100 🙂

I've got one of the Epson 580s. It's not a bad printer; it is a tad noisy (but that is a issue with most of the Epson Stylus printers). It is USB only and only for Win98 or WinME (and you will need the updated drivers from the Epson site for ME). (The driver install program checks for OS and won't let you install it on Win95 - I tried 🙁 )

Cartridges are about half the price of those for other machines - not available everywhere, but OD routinely carries them.

They have been running about $60-$70 at BB. I got mine about 4 months ago when they had rebates on them, so I paid about $45 bucks for mine, plus $25 for the USB cable.

From Anandtech's Hot deals:

HP 842 for 120 - $25 coupon - $30 Rebate = $65 + free shipping

Only problem is the black cartridge is much more expensive that the 9XX series. If you refill, then this is a decent deal.

Lexmark has it pin build in its cartridge. That means you got a fresh set of pin everytime you replace a cartridge. (of course, replacement will cost more compare to others)

However, Lexmark Z42 has higher resolution compare to other printer of similar price, and it also prints much more clear on CHEAP paper.

The Canon 2100 sells for about $80 and theres cuttently a $30 rebate. It's an okay printer and has a very small footprint. (Amazon has it I know and a lot of other places) If you don't need one right away I would wait around and keep checking the hot deals forum. In the last year I have gotten 3 printers for free or almost free that way. 🙂

Thanks a lot guys 🙂

Napalm and I were looking around tonight though and found an Epson 777. It got good reviews and I got it for a good price.

Now I can't wait until I get it 😀
