I have a Minolta QMS PagePro 1100L Laser Printer - it's a great machine, but I notice that when I turn it on, the lights in my dorm room flicker every once in awhile. Sort of like when someone is vaccum cleaning the house and the lights get slightly dimmer, but not nearly as severe.
The 1100L is plugged into a power strip that is also connected to my desktop/file server (an old Dell Dimension XPS T).
Because of this I turn my printer off when its not in use. I'm wondering if my printer puts too much strain on the electrical systems... and what I can do about it if anything.
