Have a system where the print spooler isn't loading on bootup. Going to services and telling it to start works. The service is set to Automatic like it should be. Any ideas as to why it won't start when it should?

OH, and its XP SP2

Is there actually a printer installed on the system? I've seen instances where for some reason a system will turn off a service if it's not used.

Also, try rebooting with the service to disabled, then switch it to automatic and reboot again, that might wake it up.

Give it a try, see how it goes. :)

msconfig has print spooler checked. Printer is an HP and has always been an HP. I will have them try disabling and then re-enabling the service tomorrow.
