The User was using a network printer fine, he had to walk a ways to get his jobs, so we got him a local attached printer as well. The network printer was working fine, then some time after installing the local printer he started to get spooler errors. We installed a HP LaserJet 1018.
Windows Vista says "the printer spooler has encountered and problem and needs to shut down"
I happened earlier this month and I restored to two days prior and it was working great until this week, happened again.
I did a system restore again, but no luck this time.
My to do list when he gets in:
Scan for Virus/malware
try another restore point
unplug printer and delete drivers, if i can get spooler to play nice for 5 minutes.
Does anyone know of other drivers that will play nice with this host based printer? 6P maybe?
Any other ideas?
