Print = spontaneous reboot? (M$ Office)

Using Word 2000 with W2K and when I clicked the print icon on the menu bar I got a spontaneous reboot! it did this to me a few days ago and a Regclean seemed to fix everything - this time Regclean reported no errors. I did a repair installation on Office and it has not repeated, but I'm wondering if anyone else had experienced this vexing little item before?

This is a stab in the dark, but is your printer connected via USB or Firewire?
Perhaps when you start printing something and your computer starts sending power through USB or Firewire, it doesn't get enough power for itself. Maybe you need to upgrade your power supply...

well this thought ocurred to me too, so I ran out and bought a powered USB hub. One of the other things happening was that the mouse would lock up - USB mouse. I had also just installed a new scanner that is USB / SCSI - since I had a different SCSI plug I hooked it up USB...

I checked the event viewer log and it reports the following error message

The driver detected a controller error on Device\Scsi\amsint1.

I haven't had a chance to fire up the USB hub yet...
