Print sharing

Im trying to set up printer sharing between to systems. the computer that has the printer hooked up to it is a desktop running windows 98se. The remote computer is a new laptop running windows xp home edition. Ive got file sharing working between the two but I cannot seem to get the laptop to recognize the printer. what do I need to do when I set up a new printer on the laptop to get it to see the lexmark on the desktop?
