print server troubles

Has anyone had any experience with a Linksys EFSP42 2-port print server? Trying to set one up now. It also is a 4 port switch, which works without much problem. The print server is a different story. Can't seem to assign it an IP address. Always gives a "network busy or device does not exist" message. Have it connected to a simple 8 port hub using the uplink port. There is a pc attached to it along with a network laser printer and a non-networkable one too. Can't seem to connect to the device by assigning it a relatively simple IP address of 192.168.5.xxx. Other systems are assigned static ip's. Network is peer to peer. Using Windows 2000 on all machines. One being W2k Server. Any suggestions?

Thanks

How are you assigning it an IP? Are you configuring it via a telnet session, or using the bundled software that came with it?
does it have a test button, where it will print out it's current configuration on the connected printer?
