Print preview for Excel docs opened in IE

Print Preview doesn't work if an Excel document is opened in IE. If you select that option nothing at all happens. I know the PC can be set to open the documents in an actual Excel window, but I'd prefer to figure out a way to get print preview working (if at all possible).

Anyone know? BTW, this is an XP Pro machine, an old Office 97 install, and IE6. It behaves the same on another PC with IE7. I tried to check it out on a Win2K PC and another XP pro machine, both with Office 2003, but neither one even had the Print Preview option (anyone know why that is?).
