Print offline but not

Today I hooked up an old printer to my computer (Epson Stylus Color 800), and I can't get past it saying "Status Offline." I know its working, and its lit up like its online in the control panel (BTW, I'm using Windows XP). I installed it using the XP drivers that came with the OS, so I can't seem them being the problem. The printer's self-test works fine. I'm at a loss. I even checked and reinstalled the LPT1 port, but to no avail.

Stranger yet, is that I've hooked this thing up before with no snags. SO I have no idea what's wrong with it.
 
Power everything off and reconnect.

I am assiming its a Parallel port printer.

Check you printer port settings in the bios. I belive you should have it set to SPP.
