Print error over network

Two computers and printers shared via a router. Computer 1 has no acess probelsm to either printer, but sometimes Comp2 can't access Comp 1's printer. An error message appaers on the Comp 1 screen to the effect that their is "insufficient disk space" on the drive and to select another drive. The options are OK (select another drive) or Skip. No matter what other drive I select (they all have tons of free space) it does not print. Skip always immediately produces a print.

After printing a document, the problem goes away and the next docuemnt seems to print just fine.

Its an HP 2230 and otherwise brilliant.

Any clues?
