print and file sharing security behind router

i have a linksys 4 port router and @home. 2 comps. i`m concerned about security from the web if i enable print and file sharing. should i be? thanks

One of the solutions is to install both TCP/IP, and NetBEUI protocols.

You set NetBEUI as default protocol, bind the Print, and file sharing to it.

You unbind Print, and File sharing from the TCP/IP.

The security lies in the idea that info on NetBEUI can not pass the router to the Internet, some people also claim that their Network exchange is faster by using NetBEUI.
