My friend posted this on her im away msg: FREE DELWIN!

Its about a Princeton Student whom was sharing files and got caught. After all the bs he only gets a $5000 fine. Now he has a donation website about it.

"after receiving the official court statement - a 109-page document consisting of the case summary and a list of all 4070 files found on his computer "

Personally IMO, the kid should be lucky he only gets a $5000 fine for having 4070 illegal files on his pc. But the donation thing is what really gets me, he'll probably make money on this crap :disgust:

So basically he pays slightly more than he would have if he bought every single song on iTunes? Statistically speaking, piracy is still the way to go...

Yeah, piracy should have a minimum sentence of the death penalty.

Can't believe the douchebag admits that he knew sharing the files would get him in trouble, tries to mask it as philanthropy ("Sure, I was stealing cars, but I was giving them to the needy!"), and STILL tries to portray himself as the victim of some great injustice.

I'm not sending him a donation, I'm sending him a bill!

i like how he says he only downloaded a few files...and then at the end says he has 4070 songs on his computer. Nice.

I don't feel one once of pity for him because he states that he knowingly shared the files with other people. Its not like he was clueless about what he was doing. In this case, I do agree with the RIAA suing him, which is a first.

freedaveymark too

daveymark was unjustly sued by Microft after he stole several thousand physical copies of Microsoft Windows XP from Microsoft's headquarters. He also helped himself to some LCD monitors, all of which he planned on giving away to charity.

Yet another slap in the face to the small time fry. Help daveymark fight these big faceless corporations.

To date, daveymark has incurred over $5 due to a suit he bought at a thrift shop for the upcoming court case.
