Primetime Live Polygamy 3/4

Anyone watch Prime Time Live tonight? The first story was on the town of Colorado City, Az which is totally based around a polygamous cult. One of the men there had over 80 kids. Wild stuff.

The most shocking part of the story is that the town only pays ~$100,000 in taxes a year and gets over $80mil in assistance. They were shooting on a public street and the chief of police was watching while one of his officers broke a reporter's camera.

The report wasn't very good because they didn't interview the federal gov't to ask them why they allowed this type of thing to go on.

While I generally beleive that goverment should stay out of peoples lives, the slide down the slippery slope has started.

Or would you be satisfied if their taxes/assistance were corrected?

Yes, I read it but I was commenting on polygamy in general. What are the convincing arguments as to why polygamy shouldn't be allowed? Let me get you started:

1) Marriage - the definition (puh-leeze...lame-ass excuse...give them civil unions but don't call it a marrage. Ok, fine, you politically correct bigots)
2) It's against God and the Bible (Who fvcking cares? Not everyone in this country is a Christian. Stop ramming your Christian beliefs down everyone's throat)
3) Next will be gay marriage and bestiality (both slippery slope arguments easily refuted)

By the way...way to take the most extreme case and use it to generalize the entire polygamous lifestyle

I suppose you think we should ban interracial marriage because somewhere a black guy beats his white wife.

What? I'm not overstating anything. This is not my report- Where did I say Polygamy was wrong? (Even though I believe it's so, as does most of civilized society).

Actually, it isn't against God or the Bible either. Some of the most prominent characters in the Bible were Polygamists. Just a FYI.

These are neighbors of my community. They are welfare scam artists stealing yours and my tax dollars, using loopholes in programs like medicaid and foodstamps to support families who are enbread, leaving a large portion of children with serious medical complications, including retardation. The girls, at age of puberty, are brainwashed and given to men in their 30's or 40's as wives and bare children at the rate of one pregnancy a year (at tax payers expense, mind you), until they are spent. But that doesn't matter, because the man will just keep a stable of young women to screw and keep them thinking it's all a holy procedure that obeys the Lord's commandments. Biggest bunch of crap I have to endure and tolerate while living here in southern Utah. I didn't see the TV piece, I have been at a concert tonight. But I doubt anyone can get the truth, especially a news group. This is a closed society. Very secretive. I have worked in that community. There people are in my office every day (from sister city Hilldale, Utah) getting their dosage of taxpayer relief IE; foodstamps and financial/medical assistance. I get mad every time I have to think about these creeps.
