We have passed BOINCstats and are #12 again. :)
Still: we need more, More, MOre, MORe and MORE points!

Hmm, I'm at a friend's house, he is running BOINC for me on his AMD X4 640 3.0Ghz quad-core. I had a look at the projects, and WCG, PrimeGrid, and Correlizer are all set to 100 priority. Yet, looking at the tasks, he has no PrimeGrid tasks, all correlizer tasks, and one WCG task that isn't uploading.

Correlizer has a tendency to hog resources - setting the dead lines so that the BOINC has to run those WUs first. Adjust the Correlizer tp 25 of the resources (25 priority) and set PrimeGrid (just now) to 1000.
Then ask your friend to join the TeAm or ask him to prime in jour name ... ;)

:D

It looks like that final x6 is allowing me to hold off your assault on my position, Peter... Even as we both climb the charts...

Good: just because you posted, I have added - just 10 minutes ago - 8 more cores running stably @ 3.5GHz. Lets see if that does something ... :)

I love racing!

PS. I may add more cores later ... it is getting quite cold outside and I can use the energy from the computers ...

Join the TeAm, update his preferences, then have him update the project. He could simply suspend Correlizer for the next two days... He shouldn't miss deadlines that way, I believe...

That would work too ... and while he is at it, ask him to suspend all the other projects too.

I see your eight core raise with an OC'd i5 2500k w/AVX enabled :)

We'll see how it does... compared to my thubans it should rock. Good thing I set up RDP into my Dad's rig... ;)

Yep, task time in the 900 to sub 900 second range. Worth about 7 thuban cores @ 3.4 Ghz... we'll see if it can hold you off :p It's going to come down to point values for the work completed...

I have added 8 more cores ... lets see if we can get the team higher - it may be hard, but let us try.
My personal goal is to get among the top-100 to get at least some few challenge points ... :)

I added 6 cores into the race. I'll borg/assimilate my wife's laptop tonight and add that into the mix. I have a Pentium M 2.16 GHz in my old XPS M170 laptop but not sure if that grandpa of a CPU is worth it.

Hah, I knew that I should have set deeper work queues! Right now they are all at .25 days... Hopefully its an issue quickly resolved...

Glad to see you on the thread, Zip. I will be good wcg all next week :)

Good to be here! Hopefully my small contribution will be meaningful in some way. Looking forward to seeing you on WCG.

OT: Can you run more than one WCG WU at once? At least for me, I've only ever seen a single WU processing at once. I'm joined to the Clean Energy Project sub-project on WCG.
I would be willing to put one of my machines on WCG exclusively, if I could run four WUs on it.
Edit: (After this race, I mean.)

Yup, you should be able to run more than one WU at a time. For example, my i7 970 is running 12 instances at a time. Did you set BOINC to use 100% of the processors?

379 teams are in the race.

BOINCstats have produced more than 90K more points than the TeAm and are on the werge of overhauling.
Could we have some more crunchers? More computers, more TeAm-mates;

Hmmm, now I regret not starting at once. Had I crunched from the start, I would have hade 75 - 95K more points and I would have been approx #45 - 50 now.
The CPU-dependent challenges are not as good as the GPU-dependent challenges for me.
:) I think I'll be in the next challenges from the start ... ;)

That would have had less impact that usual. There is a hard limit of 48 WU per host for the challenge.

Hah. I've been increasing my resources over the week as well. I guess for me, the building/scavenging/recruiting is part of the fun. It always seems like there will be more time before the race starts...

That said, people who know me well would expect me to be this punctual and would know my effort would peak the closer to the due date :p I need to re-imagine the start of the race as when to have the full effort on tap.

I do think we must have turned the tide against BOINC Stats, as the gap has widened to ~140k points now.

Ah, good to know. That does make sense as it would keep someone from intentionally sucking the pool of WU's dry at this point of the race.

That said, holy pending credit Batman! Through the first couple days I was consistently under 1 page of Pending WU's per host, now one has 180+ pending WU's!
