Prime95 - one core doing something different?

Running the Small FFTs torture test, with SUM(Inputs) and round-off checking. OS is Windows 8.1.

Basically, one core went over to the 8K test after the 4th 12K test while the other cores were doing the 5th 12K test. Didn't display any errors though.

Is this normal behavior or something I should be worried about?

Normal behavior.

Be worried if one of the cores stops with an error, you'll have to keep tweaking in that case.

A "slow core" could be the sign of the replay mechanism at work, which means that you don't have enough voltage for that core.

Didn't seem 'slow' though. The other cores were doing 12K Test 5, it hopped over to the 8K tests from 12K Test 4.

It did take a little longer for it to go over to the 8K tests from 12K Test 4 than it took the other 3 to go to 12K Test 5 from 12K Test 4 however.

not something to be worried about, but I didn't know it was normal behavior. It's normal for the cores to get somewhat out of sync with the sizes they're working on, but I've not seen them do different things like that. neato

The workers probably get out of sync because the CPU isn't only running P95, it's running the OS plus whatever else it's going on in the background. At least one of the cores will inevitably be slower than the others because of this.

As long as it doesn't error (remember to activate P95's error detection features in one of the menus before starting) it's fine.

But this isn't just "out of sync", though. This is one core that finished its "self-test 12K" with only 4 tests, while the other cores are doing a fifth test. Yeah, that's unusual.
