Prime95 Errors. Means my CPU's unstable, right?

I was experimenting with my 1ghz/200 Athlon last night, and set my FSB up to 133mhz, to see if my CPU would run at it with the Retail HSF. Everything booted up fine, and it idles at 40 C, but I wanted to test it under load. Prime95 keeps giving me errors and halting though on both the self test and the torture test: Error rounding off usually.

This sounds like the FPU not working properly, because I otherwise as perfectly stable, even when I run Black and White and Half Life.

What does this sound like to everyone else? Was I just unlucky enough to get an AXIA that won't do 1.33ghz, or would slightly better cooling do the trick?

P.S. I get the rounding error running at a vcore of 1.65 all the way up to 1.85.

could be the memory or the mobo doesnt like doing high FSB speeds try raising the multiplier and lowering FSB to 100

I would, but the chip isn't unlocked, and I'm lazy. I can't understand why the mobo or RAM wouldn't like running at 133mhz. The RAM is crucial pc2100, and the Mobo is the Epox 8KHA: Both should be able to handle 133mhz.

try to set the jumper on the mobo to 133 instead of 100?

all i can say is why did you buy an athlon B when you could have had a C for the same price?

it could be the cooling because the temp sensors on mobo is usually about 5-10 degrees lower than actual.

Heh, because I was short of cash at the time I ordered. The B was... 15$ cheaper I think. Heck, newegg doesn't even seel 1ghz Athlon B's anymore.

Blame laziness.

Well, after using the CPU at 1.33ghz for a while, I decided I didn't really even need the extra speed. Couldn't notice it one bit.

Maybe I'll but a good HSF soon. Thanks for tryin' to help man.
