Prime95: EPIC FAIL

My Q6600, which is currently at stock 2.4ghz, had all 4 cores fail the Prime95 Blend Test.

3 of the cores failed after 2 minutes, while the 4th went on for 4 minutes. What could this possibly mean? Do I need a new processor? Coretemp reports temps of about 35 C idle, and 44 C at load.

Please help!

Could someone please help me? It seems to work fine running the small FFT test (which is mostly CPU based, I think). Does this mean it's my RAM? Windows memory diagnostic shows that I have no problems with my RAM, and they are set at advertised speeds....no overclocking.

The actual error I get on the Blend Test is something like: FATAL ERROR: Value rounded to 0.5; Expected 0.4 or less.

At least, that's the gist of it. Please, can someone help me? Do I need to replace something? The Q6600 is at stock 2.4.

I'm thinking it's the ram....however, Nero 5 (which I dug out and installed today), will not allow me to burn discs. Is there a free burning program out there that will allow me to burn an ISO image to make a bootable disc?

CD Burner XP Pro, free and better than Nero, you'll have to do some surgery to the registry after uninstalling Nero before installing CDBXP, so that it will work properly.

Yeah. It's the RAM. Any recommendations for brands? I need stable, dependable DDR2 (preferably 800mhz). I WAS using Patriot, but I will avoid them from now on. I can't have my memory degrade......

Patriot's fine. Give your RAM a bit more voltage. If it requires 2V and you're only giving it 1.8V, that may be why it's unstable.
