running prime 95 V25.4

going on 6 hours currently and no threads stopped, onle thing i noticed is that the threads are working on different tests

for example:
Worker Thread#1 will have just passed the Self-Test 10K and working on Test 1 of length 12k

Worker Thread#2 will be the same as above ^^

Worker Thread#3 will be on Test 11 of length 10K

Worker Thread#4 will be on Test 4 of length 12K

is this normal? the Green "P 2-1" icon on the corner of each thread is still Green and each test is still moving on its own steady pace. nothing to worry about right

I was kind of wondering the same thing. On my E4500 the second core usually ends up a little bit behind. My guess is it's nothing to worry about unless one ore two cores are seriously lagging.

Edit: I was just thinking, if you're doing something else at the same time, like word processing, maybe those cores which are behind have given up a tiny bit of their horsepower to allow you to do your work.

That is right on... Also, a side note is that each core is indepentantly clocked and thus will fluctuate different from the other cores. If you run CPU Right Mark, you can see that your rated speed on the cores themselves fluctuate quite a bit. Such as 2977Mhz to 3016Mhz down to 3001 Mhz, etc... Each core does this and in theory, over time, some cores may surpass others as a result of this fluctuation.

alright thanks for the replies. that was exactly what i was doing: my normal PC activities when Priming. i don't notice much of a speed drop anyway.

sometimes i even play CS:S when running prime95 and still get the same performance lol
