Good job, Zebo. Were the two that failed on you both the new "AX" models or other ones? I have two that seem decent. My original 300W model that I bought WAYYYYYY back to power my Tualatin Celerons - still have it with my overclocked and undervolted mobile P4 server. My other one was purchased only a couple of months ago, one of their new "green" models, FSP400-60GLN. Was in my wife's system until I swapped it with a passive Antec that was given to me.

I would try Just connecting MOBO, CPU, a single HDD, Video card and CPU cooler - that's it no case cans no extra drives no nothing - and see if see boots. If you can get another PSU that would be ideal.. Something with a fat single rail.

Sparkle doesn't make fortron PSU's
Fortron makes sparkle PSU's.

It wasn't the PSU. If the PSU had malfunctioned, something would be dead. My money's on the motherboard if he's not overclocking. Ram if he is.

Right, and the Aurora (AX series) series is not thier best. It's their entry level. Sparkle does normally only carry their better stuff. The FSP server stuff is ALWAYS good though.

Another issue is that some people accidentally block the vent on the front (inside the case) of the FSP AX series PSU. There is a capacitor there that overheats and sometimes dies if this happens. It doesn;t blow up, but if you pull the cover off of the PSU, you can see the bulge on the top of the cap. I have pictures to show how/where and the results if anyone is interested.

Whats PSU?

i don't understand why everyone loves these DFI crashpartys and such... go with something reputable like an ABIT, ASUS, etc. etc....

I am sure enjoying my DFI crashparty SLI board. :)

Me too!

At first I was going to say you were wrong, as the PSU did seem to be the problem, however I'm still having problems as my old PSU won't even run my 3000+ anymore...and I've never had problems with that setup. I'm beginning to suspect something is wrong with my motherboard. Although I now don't have a PSU that I know should work...so I can't make any conclusions.
