Hey guys,

I built a new system with;

i7-3770k @ stock
Asus Sabertooh Z77
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600mhz

Basically everything seems to be running fine until i run some stress testing which i do whenever i run a pc for the first time. Basically it hasn't been overclocked at all, ran prime 95 over night and get;

And that's the only error set after running overnight. Apart from that i've run memtest and received no errors, updated bios, run 3Dmark 11 and 13 with no errors and haven't seem to had any system instability or blue screens. Also strange if i run intel burn test on max i get a fail after around 3 tests.

I'm a bit lost on what it could be, especially as i can't see any other problems with the system :hmm: Any help?

Have you checked the individual core temps of the different processor cores to ensure you don't have a single core running hot? It would also be a good idea to run a MEMTEST86+ session on each of your memory modules one at a time to ensure you don't have a faulty memory module.

Yeah all the cores are running at the same temperature range. I'll try running memtest on each stick (2 x 8GB)

Ran memtest on both memory sticks individually and no errors. I'm assuming it's a motherboard problem but it's so strange that there's no instability evident in running other benchmarks or general use, it's just not passing CPU burn in programs

Any other thoughts?

EDIT: Never mind, decided to give one of the sticks another go with 3-4 runs and it came back with errors. Thanks mate :)

Hmmm. Maybe a bios issue, or even though you did do some memory test it may indeed be a memory issues. Try bumping the voltage a little bit on the RAM and Vcore.

Might still be a memory issue if you ask me. Are you using two 8 gig sticks or 4 4 gig sticks? Take one out and try that. Make sure you are using two 4 pin power connectors to supply power to motherboard also. Check memory voltage in bios and make sure its set for the rated power of the memory chips. (1.5 to 1.65 volts) 1.5 is what you should be using for that modern system these days. I use intel's Xmp memory setting if it's stable. Some memories are rated 1333,1600,1866, and so on..Make sure they are properly set in bios. Bump up the memory volt just a wee bit more than stock sometimes help (1.5 to 1.510) Leave the blck clock for mother board at 100 witch can make things very stable (99.8 also works) Also sometimes some motherboards just don't like certain memories. (msi cough!) My p67a-gd65 was a pain with patriot memory and only got stable with corsair memories..(A months pain in arse) Oh!? One more thing...I don't like using the auto settings for cpu voltage..Find out what speed you want it running at and search for proper voltage from others here. I run the I5 3570k at just over one volt of juice at 3.8 ghz(1.030).With turbo boost And Auto turned off . Puts way to much voltage when Cpu auto setting is on. (1.2 or even higher) And the turbo just makes the system seem kind of sluggish for me. Good luck and hope some of this helped :)

Well, he tested the memory.
Cpu do going bad however unlikely.
