prime 95 will complete 1 or 2 loops and then self abort due to calculation error.

I am really baffled by this one.

All the other tests i've run come out ok.

Any ideas of what the problem might be?

run motherboard monitor and check out the temps during the test...heatsink/fans all clean? good airflow?

run memtest86 (on both sticks of memory)

prime95 version 23.7 (latest)?

have you run any other burn in/stress programs?

Try running a memory testing program - MS Windows Memory Diagnostic is probably the harshest I've come across, with Memtest86 a close 2nd. What may be interesting is what pattern any errors occur in - this may give a clue as to whether the RAM is faulty, or whether it is a timing incompatability.

I've had intractable problems with a whole batch of Abit nforce 2 boards - all of which had the same problem. Essentially, the boards were incompatible with the RAM (and I tried crucial, twinmos, generic and others). I never could solve the problem, so I just accepted it. It's not just me either, this seems to be an recurrent problem, with Nforce 2 coming off far more frequently than other chipsets.

I've just bought a new DFI NFII board and some crucial 3200 - if I can't get this one working I'll be sure to let you know.
