on 17 inches crt monitor what size do you use the most? I can't decide which one is better for viewing...
1280 x 768 or 1280 x 960 or 1280 x 1024?

I think the 17", which is 16" or 15.9" viewable is best at 1024x768. This is only my opinion and some may like it at a higher resolution. Try all of them and see which one is most suited for you.
 
I generally use 1152x864 on a 17" CRT display.

However I use 1600x1200 on my 15" laptop screen, and it's beautiful :heart:

I would probably use 1280x960 (highest 4:3 ratio available), but make sure whatever it runs at 85Hz minimum.
 
I have used 1280 x 1024 but it is hard to read with so tiny fonts (I have changed fonts size but still no go).
