Which pci-e slot on an sli board is usually the primary one. I assume one can do x16 and the other can only do 8x? I have my card in the top slot(nearest the cpu) and it says it's running at 8x. here... http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/5082/8xpoop7bo.png

Is that the simple solution, move the card to the other slot or is there something I'm missing? Can't find any bios options for it and I flashed to the latest version. Sorry if this is really stupid but it's my first pci-e card :). I would just rather not open my case up anymore if it's going to run at 8x on either slot. Could just be my motherboard. It's an albatron K8SLI by the way. Thanks for the help.

usually the top one is primary
and if there is no sli, then one would do 16x, if two cards were used, both would be 8x. u might need to switch the large jumper/switch inbetween the two pci-e 16x slots.

well, there is no jumper. This board has built in sli detection which is why I'm stumped. Could it only support 8x for even one card? That doesn't seem right.. :/

I have exactly the same problem. (This is my Forceware screenshot)

This is my system:
Albatron K8SLI
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB DRR 400Mhz (2x512 Dual channel)
Leadtek GF6800 TDH PCI-E 16x

------------------------------------------------------

Everything seems to be ok but VGA reports it's running at 8x although I am sure it should say 16x.
Paintballfreak66 is right. K8SLI does not have a jumper to control SLI mode.
So what happens? Is it a BIOS issue? I can't find any relating selection in BIOS.
If someone could help, I would be very pleased... Thank you. :)

In my BIOS, there is a setting for SLI. Turn it off, if you have it, because it does limit both ports to 8x.
