Pricing out web hosting

I am looking at hosting a site with approx 750-1000 members upon launch. This is a database/research sort of site. I calculated approx 1.5mb of bandwidth per user per day. What am I looking at for hosting costs? This comes out to 50gb (45 for the user load + 5 extra for upload and maintaince).

What sort of price range am I looking at? It needs to be fast and maintain %99.999 uptime. Who does this sort of hosting?

Fantastico

As Ross said, a VPS is a good solution.

Just be aware of the 256MB RAM Guaranteed- Burstable to 1GB. If your site comes under a heavy load for a period of time from a lot of usage or a inefficient script, the VPS may crash.

Something to think about and talk about with your provider.
