Hi

This is what I plan to buy:

Athlon XP 1800+ (retail box)
Asus A7V266-E mobo
The above costs me $420 from monarchcomputer.com + $20 shipping

Antec SX 830 case --- $70 if I do a local pickup
Asus V7100 gf2mx Pro 64MB card - $99 from Monarch
Netgear FA-312 10/100 NIC--$20
512 MB Crucial DDR- $60

This is going to cost me around $660 if I order it all now.

Now the thing is I have the money.. but I wonder will the prices come down, say a total of $100 on the whole by December 10 or so? Should I wait or we really are not going to see any dip in prices of the above? What do you say? Thanks.

the cpu/mobo price may come down a total of $20-$40 by then, but i doubt the other stuff comes down much at all.

The mobo + CPU combo is a little bit on the high side. Actually if you do more shopping on other sites you'll probaly notice the $20-$40 difference in price. If you do not plan of overclocking, you can just get the OEM CPU for much less price. There is no difference between the OEM and retail except for the HSF and warranty. CPU's don't burn as long as you follow their instructions.
