Prices on Pc Hardware

Hi everyone !
Guys ,could anyone please explane me about Pc hardware prices.(Mobos,GFX,CPU,etc)
I mean,the drop of the prices connected to the release of newer harware products or its just because of the part of the year (summer,winter,etc) ?
If so,what part of the year i should basicly expect drop in prices?
How often prices drop ?
Please,can anyone clear this for me ?

Prices drop as new products are brought out which are faster/better.
Prices also drop over time. Some companies (AMD and Intel) also sometimes say when they are going to lower CPU prices.

Some things prices are pretty static, like power supplies and cases.
