Priceline works!

I wanted to take a weekend getaway trip for my wife and I to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Was going back and forth in trying to decide on different hotels when I remembered Priceline and Clark Howard recommending them.

One of hotels I was debating at staying was Hilton Oceanfront Resort. Cheapest rate I found online was $109 per night. Tried Priceline and sumitted $60 a night offer for resort class hotel thinking I had no shot at getting for this price. But Priceline came through and the Hilton was selected at $60 a night. 😀

What do you know. Priceline really works! First time using the service but now I plan to use them again.

 Priceline.

I got a $250 dollar hotel in Puerto Rico for $130.

I think priceline works in some places better than others. Resort towns?

I use Priceline all the time...I never try planning a trip w/o it. www.biddingfortravel.com is very helpful as well.

For instance, when I went to NYC last year, I got hotel rooms at the Millenium Broadway and Waldorf Astoria...both places were ~$120 a night. This past Christmas, my family went to Miami and we stayed at the Eden Roc Resort (Marriot, I think) on Miami Beach for something like $130 or $140 a night. Good stuff.

I did the priceline bid thing when I was looking for a hotel in chicago

The going price was 200 a night, I got my hotel for 100 through priceline.

The only catch was the room I got was much smaller than the other rooms in the hotel. But the amenities were the same.
