The grocery store that I work at recently started accepting Priceline.com, so I decided to give it a try. I used Priceline.com for the first time today, and I was quite dissapointed
It's extremely misleading how they claim that you can "name your own price".
Perhaps they should tell you what it's actually like: 1) You give a vague description of what you're looking for (eg. a vegetable, a vehicle, or a flight from somewhere in the Northeast sometime in December to somewhere in the Southwest) 2) you pay them 3) you may or may not get the deal.
Most groceries at the store I work at come on sale at least once a month. Priceline doesn't take into account local sales, only the MSRP, so you might actually end up paying more, even after getting half off. As for hotel rooms and airplane tickets, you can always get a good deal by booking at least 3 months in advance.
Perhaps I'm not doing this right, because some people I've talked to are very impressed with it. Is there some kind of "trick" to using priceline.com?
