We were just discussing how sick of those mastercard "Priceless" commercials we are, and it got me to wondering:

What was the first "Priceless" TV commercial?

I've been digging around the net forever, and can't find it. Can anyone remember?

The "Priceless" campaign launched during the 1997 World Series with "Father/Son": "Two tickets: $28 ... Real conversation with 11-year-old son: Priceless." At the time, MasterCard was trailing its competitors and lacked an identity, and Interpublic Group's McCann-Erickson hatched the campaign to help the brand stand out from its rivals. Initially, the campaign was a reaction to the extravagant symbols of 1980s excess, though it was expanded to touch on everything from sports idols, pop culture and current events. One well-liked recent spot has a simple theme: A boy's insomnia at a sleepover causes his father to escort him back home. Since January 2000, MasterCard has spent more than $510 million on advertising, according to estimates by Taylor Nelson Sofres's CMR.

Here's your answer.
