How can you people afford dvd playing programs like powerdvd and windvd? Those 20 mb softwares are like 70 dollars.

I got powerdvd free with my drive. That $10 you saved going OEM versus retail really payed off in the end

I never knew that there is a difference when I bought it. I was never presented to the boxed version when I bought it and I thought that they were all oem. I need a new dvd drive.

My PowerDVD came with the drive. Have not needed anything else.

But powerdvd releases new versions all the time and what if yours that came with the drive got behind without all of the features?

If what I have does the job desired, then I have no need to purchase something else for the extra bells and whistles.

If what comes with the latest H/W does not do the job that I require, then I purchase S/W that will.
