Price/Performance Decision

Hello all,

I was thinking about buying a Radeon 9700 pro, but for the same amount (about$280) I could get a 9500 pro and an XP2100+. I am wondering, which would give me better performance? I am currently using a Shuttle AK31A, XP1700+, 512mb crucial pc2100, GF3 Ti200, 80gb WD se. Thanks for your help.

Just get the 9700pro.... your cpu is fine, but it will bottleneck the videocard a bit, but from a 1700+ to a 2100+ isn't that great of an upgrade, if anything go to a 2200+ or 2400+ if you decide not to get the 9700pro!

Get the 9700PRO.
I have one running on a XP1800, and i get great frame rates.
The XP1700 is only 33mhz slower than a XP1800.
If you still arnt happy with your processor, then OC it.
