Scoured this forum with search last night and read all kinds of stuff about fans, but the couple times the Yate Loons were mentioned they stood out to me. They seem to fit the bill cause they work well and they're *cheap*.
I'm most interested in long-lasting fans, that do an acceptable job and aren't jet engines. I want quiet, but I'm not obsessed with super quiet. These are ball bearing fans? This means they're not the cheapest bearing type, and they'll last pretty well, right?
I'm getting an Antec 300 (shipped next day from Amazon with free shipping -- woot!) that should be here soon, and I want to create positive pressure inside my case. So I want to use these YLs in the two front fan cages. My new system will be an i7 920 with the MSI X58 Pro and the HIS 4850 (no rear exhaust). I doubt I'll do any serious overclocking if any at all (I value stability above nearly everything else -- I *hate, hate, hate* when my system has stability problems). Anybody have an opinion on whether I'm going to want a third intake fan on the side panel of the case to cool this rig?
I'm getting a Xigmatek s1283, any thoughts on the need to replace the stock fan that comes with it? I'm thinking I won't need to, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks.
