Price drops on X1900s

Remarkable though.

Back a couple months after they came out, i got my X1900XT for what was a great deal, over $150 less than average retail.

Now they are going for less than that :Q

Well, you gotta sell the old stuff to make room for the new stuff (X1950).

RIP Socket 939!

Man the Sapphire x1900gt is lookin mighty temptin. Its as fast as a 7900gt right?
Too bad the warranty is a measly 1 year.

it's faster by quite a bit (unless you get xtreme overclocks on the GT)

no, it isn't
every where x1900GT compared vs 7900GT that runs at stock 450mhz and even in those results ati isn't as fast

now, you can get eVGA 7900GT KO that runs at 500mhz and easy bump it to 550 - 600 without vmod and replacing fan

to make x1900GT run as fast you have to bump up it to 1.4V to go in 600 mhz range and turn fan at 100% (noise) to keep it in 90C-100C range and even then ATI GT comes just close in 3dmark score to NV GT.

I think that NV eVGA GT KO runs about 10% faster then ATI GT

and that's what reflected in current price - IMHO
about $230 for ATI GT vs $250 for NV GT

I run both cards.
NV much more easy to OC via Riva, where for ATI GT you need Atitool GT version ...
