Price cut on X2's?

I regularily check prices on these "things", X2's,
hadn't in a few days but just checked at Monarch.
Anyway, a 3800 X2 OEM is down to $314, a 4200 X2
OEM down to $390, etc. That's in their configurators, such as:
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...n=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=80311

Other than that, they have the retail versions here:
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...=CTGY&Store_Code=M&Category_Code=amddc

which are now a lot cheaper than Newegg's:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...Price=&SubCategory=343&Submit=Property

So...Was there a price-cut on them these past few days?
That's the cheapest I've seen them...

Yup, noticed that a few days ago on a different website. Bought an X2 3800 3 weeks ago on sale $20 cheaper than regular price. It's now on sale at the same place for $30 less than what I paid. Ah well, the mass quantities expected for Q4 must just be coming online now.

I remember when they were first released, seeing X2 4400+ processors selling for near the price of the X2 4800+ linked above. My own 4400+ cost around $650 IIRC, though I don't expect the X2 4800+ to reach that before another higher speed X2 is released.

Some guy said that AMD was gonna drop prices tomorrow and on the 31st... hopefully even more in November. Either way, if prices really are dropping, I might end up getting a 4200 X2 instead of a 4000.

Been watching them too, they are getting real close to the price of your middle tier single cores...price check shows a 3200 winnie cheaper than a 3500 winnie...go figure....can only see the middle range x2's dropping significantly...can't really see the x2 3800 going for much less than $300.

I am waiting until the 3800+ hits under 300 before I crack. My clawhammer 3000+ 754 is hanging in there with no sweat.
