Yeah I logged in today and saw that. I never played it. It got a 9 on ign.com and had pretty good amazon reviews so I nabbed it. I have HL2E1 and E2 left to play and then I'll play throught that.

Stupid Steam needs me to select the country I am buying from, not the one I live in (on holidays atm). Took me like 10 tries to figue it out (asks for billing address...). Well, bought it succesfully in the end. Will give the game a try once my new rig is up and running :)

Thanks. The premise for the game was so dumb that I didn't want to buy it for full price, although the game mechanics were cool from what I saw in the demo.

I don't care about the online (in any game). The SP is pretty good, game looks good, runs well and is fun to play. Well worth the $5

Demo seemed way generic, but I can pay $5 for a generic blast-em-up. Good call.

The reason PREY was great is that it looks amazing and wasn't too demanding,
plus there are a ton of neat twists and tweaks like the gravity manipulation and
portals.

There are some great uses of scale and space too.

All in all it was good fun.

The DOOM engine is probably the best out there in terms of efficiency/eye candy... next to the half life 2 engine.

Prey was a great game...very polished. I picked it up for 10 bucks at Fry's not too long ago and finished it in a couple of nights...

I jumped all over this. I'm finding Steam to be a great way to pick up "games I wanted to play but didn't get to" on the cheap. Now that I'm a busy, old, married, father of 3, it's a lot tougher to stomach dropping $50-60 for a game I may not even get to play until it hits the bargain bin. Since my playing time has narrowed considerably, I can just wait on all but my absolute must-haves. :)

Foir $5 this game is a DEAL! It is much longer than I thought, and is pretty fun to boot. I'm happy I picked it up.

I got this when it first came out. Good gameplay, awesome use of elements like portals, the "death fights" and vertigo-inducing gravity shifts. The subpar voice acting ruined the excellent sound, and the storyline was meh.

Multiplayer can be pretty fun. I never got too into it, but with the gravity paths it's pretty cool.

I'm actually liking it quite a bit. They definitely enhanced the Doom3 engine quite a bit - it looks great. It gets better after the first part of the game too - less Tommy talking, more cool gravity tricks and shooting. I like the way they did respawning too - no respawn chambers like Bioshock, but rather it just puts you back into the same place, with health dependent on how many wraiths you shoot.

Really creative level design by the way. I wouldn't be able to retrace my steps if I tried with all the gravity-flipping, wall-walking, and portal-jumping.

Yeah, the story is so fuckin bad. So, so, so bad. But at least you get to shoot your girlfriend in the face. Yes, that's a spoiler, but the story's so bad who could possibly care.
