I appreciate the link, but this looks to me like a pretty garden-variety sci-fi shooter with good graphics. Am I missing something?

Prey was fabled to have 4D TECHNOLOGY. Which meant you could fire a rocket down a hall and have it hit you in the back or something crazy like that.

fernando is screwed for letting them video cam that :p

but otherwise, impressive graphics but there is nothing gameplay wise that makes me want to play this game, seems to fall for the doom3 drap, too dark

two things are very different...

portals...that you can see AND fire in/out of....

spirit walking....you basically leave your body behind (your body sort of levitates while you are out of it), and can walk on ceilings, go into rooms to open locked doors, shoot arrows, etc...

Uses the Doom 3 engine, so you know it looks nice....

Looks interesting. Maybe I'll play it who knows. I'm more of a Multiplayer kind of guy though.

Back in the day, Prey was going to be the sh!t. Destroyable environments, fully 3D areas, portals, dynamic shadowing and lighting ... and this was in the P2/Voodoo2 era of gaming. :Q

I'd like to see if they can make the same kinda splash they would have back then.

I remember being so amped about the oldschool Prey. They had KMFDM to do the soundtrack. It would have been awesome.
