1st post! Yay!

I havn't really heard much of this game and in fact, the first time I really found out about it was like 1 week ago when I went to BB and see the pre-order option. I was like Hmmm, new FPS? Then I seen it was pre-order and was like "bleh".

Now that I think of it... Wasn't this the game being developed by a russian team? Maybe I am thinking of something else.

No, you're thinking of STALKER. Prey was supposed to come out around the same time as Half Life 1, got delayed, eventually cancelled, and was suddenly resurrected last year..

 
Flashlight mod, FTW !!!!

Anyone else find their aged eyes getting just a weee bit tired of squinting in every corner for signs of movement ?? I gave up after a weekend of Doom 3 .. I'm sorry, but its too damn dark, and I really don't like going to bed with a headache from eyestrain.
Honestly, I have a legit gripe, as I am an old time Quake 1 gamer who was at the vision docs due to not blinking while playing Q1 CTF. I said to him,Doc, I had the strength rune and was the sole base defender on Painkeep. There's no way I had time to blink. He looked at me and smiled, as he too was a Quake addict and knew exactly what I was going through.
 
I'm getting sick of the flashlight in games as well. You'd think by now they could invent a better light source. Something that doesn't run out after 30 seconds and something that is a lot brighter.

Exactly, if it only takes a handfull of hours to complete the game, I've got plenty of flashlights that last that long on good old Alkalines never turning it off. F***ing BS, noting that you should only have to change batteries maybe once in order to get continuous never-turn-off your flood-light (not just flashlight) light.

At least the screenies/demo suggests it will be brighter than Doom 3. But I agree that dark/flashlight crapola gets old.

Good thing though, you guys deal with the slow servers then let me know tomorrow morning if its even worth a d/l (my net connect is fairly slow). 🙂

It should be downloadable now, i'm at work, so i wouln't check. I know a few of you are looking forward to this.
 
it SHOULD be downloadble now, but it appears the gamespot page is broken. An empty timer box where the "Download now!" link should be.
 
Thanks for the tip, I'm getting it from fileshack right now. Now I'll have something fun and new to play this weekend.

*hopes the game is as good as the hype* 😀
 
Anybody got a bloody torrent yet? I'm only pulling 9k from gamespot, 20k from download.com, hour wait in line at Fileshack, and 25m wait for fileplanet
