Prey 2 Delayed Indefinitely, Not Cancelled

The first Prey was pretty cool; played through it twice. Definately one of the most interesting shooters via it's teleporting and spatial size gameplay (which blows away Portal imo).

The first time I looked at a tiny meteorite (or would it be asteroid, since still in space aboard a spaceship?) in a glass box, and then got transported to that meteorite as part of the gameplay... seriously cool.

Add some System/Bio shock gameplay to Prey, and it would probably be my favorite game.

The original prey popularized not only portals, but gravity generators. It was in space and there was no real up or down and you could walk down curved ramps in any direction. Combining the two made for really interesting game play just like the funky physics and portals in Portal 2 made for great puzzle dynamics. It appears that with Prey 2 someone was interested in doing away with all the great basic dynamics and hyping it as another generic shooter. I'm just glad Bethesda had the common sense to stop them.

Didn't the first one get passed around for 10ish years before finally getting to a dev that made it? I remember it was running along with DNF for games stuck in development hell, but not "cancelled". Sounds like it's going to happen all over again.

Think for a moment, when was the last time you ever heard a publisher or developer admit their game was total crap? If Bethesda is willing to go that far then I'm willing to trust them when they say it is indefinitely delayed and hope for the best.
