Saw this floor model at CompUSA the other day. The white plastic frame type.

i think thats an excellent deal..unfortunately the video card sucks (compared to the optional 7600GT upgrade), but other then that, its a great machine. my gf has the 20" but with core duo, and a radeon x1600 instead of the geforce 7 series gpu. great machines!

Depending on what you are doing with it, you will never notice the graphics card anyway. Drop another GB of RAM into that thing and you will be good to go

Sounds pretty sweet, especially for the screen size. Again, throw as much ram as you possibly can at it. You will notice the difference.

Try using it for a while at the store before buying. Some people, me included, find the 24" to be too big for their desks and prefer the 20".

But, to answer your original question, yes $1299 is a good price. Be sure to take advantage of the up-to-date program and get Leopard for $10.

Yup, then use your savings to get a backup drive for that bad boy! I recommend one with a Firewire enclosure.

Yea thanks for the suggestion everyone. I really wanna go for it, but chickened out the last minute. $1300 is quite a chunk of money and I can't afford it right now. Neither do I need a new computer.
So if you guys are bored go scout out your local CompUSA. Might be able to find those on clearance.
